The United States of America offers a foreign investor program called the EB-5 Investor Program.
A foreign investor who invests a minimum of $500,000 and creates a minimum of 10 direct or indirect jobs in the United States, will obtain a permanent residency (green card) for themselves, their spouse and minor children.
5,000 permanent green cards are available each year for a total value of 2.5 Billion $. The objective is to attract 5,000 investors per year in different projects throughout the U.S. so that the new foreign money being invested in the U.S. will create 50,000 direct or indirect jobs.
- In 2006, the program generated 250 Million $ with 500 investors and created 5,000 new direct or indirect jobs in the U.S.
- In 2007, the program generated 500 Million $ with 1,000 investors and created 10,000 new direct or indirect jobs in the U.S.
- In 2008, the program generated 1 Billion $ with 2,000 investors and created 20,000 new direct or indirect jobs in the U.S.
This excellent program has helped many a locality and development agency bring new foreign investments into their States. The resulting projects have created thousands of jobs for the community.
Many investment programs are managed by Regional Centers who have been approved by the U.S. Immigration (USCIS). The USCIS will be the ones issuing the permanent residency (green cards). There are approximately 60 Regional Centers in the United States most of which are involved in approving viable projects. They are always looking for projects that will have a positive impact on their communities and create jobs. The EB-5 Program gives them the opportunity of obtaining working capital from foreign investors. The investors overall objective is to get permanent residency (green card) for themselves, their spouses and minor children, so it is win-win for everyone.
All the programs are structured as Limited Partnerships. They are managed by the General Partner who is responsible for the administration and the operational management. The Limited Partners are only liable up to the amount of their investment, i.e. $500,000.00.
Can-Am Team, in joint venture with companies that have a proven track record, will present various Regional Centers with viable projects. Once a project has been approved by a Regional Center, Can-Am Team puts together a Limited Partnership where the General Partner is usually the one who has the particular and pertinent know-how.
Can-Am Team recruits the foreign investors, protects their investment, helps them settle in the U.S. and get permanent residency for themselves and their families under the conditions that the project be completed and the direct or indirect jobs be created within two years. Can-Am Team will take all the necessary steps to see that the projects respect the required timelines.

- They do not have to worry about finding financing and have the necessary cash-flow to operate;
- They can execute their projects by phases, knowing the money will be there as they need it;
- Option to buy after five (5) years;
- They will have the necessary workforce to execute their projects;
- They will be able to work with different government agencies who will assist them, if needed, with job training, grants or any other government services;
