Our experts combine over 250 years of experience in business, exports, investor programs and immigration and are passionate about providing top level counseling and representation. As early as 1994, we foresaw the economic challenges that were emerging as the world economy shifted towards globalization. In order to survive and strive our clients needed to expand their operations beyond traditional borders and compete on a new level.
To this end, we have helped thousands of companies of all sizes open branches and subsidiaries in the USA and Canada as well as helping multinationals from Europe and Asia structure their operations in the North American market. In order to protect their corporate culture and assure continuity as well as management control we saw to it that key employees were allowed to be transferred and legally work on site. We even provided a sort of welcome wagon to assist these employees and their families to painlessly integrate their new surroundings. We facilitated everything from housing requirements to school admissions. We are always with our clients every step of the way.
Job creation plays a very important part in our mission. Since 1994, we have helped create over 7,000 jobs in the U.S. and 3,000 more in Canada and assisted more than 4,500 companies with their investments in the U.S. We were instrumental in securing over 25,000 work permits in the United States alone.
Members of our Investors Program Team have managed over a Billion Dollars in assets and have developed an international web of contacts that spans the globe. They are particularly active in Canada and the United States, in United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Switzerland and Brazil. This team can provide all the investors required for innovative and sound projects.
Our work with the AFL-CIO led us to give conferences in many States to further educate the members and leaders of these international unions on the need and opportunity of transferring their brothers from Canada to the U.S.A. or vice-versa.
The American Builders and Contractors (ABC), which has over 26,000 members throughout the United States, asked us to represent them at the Department of Labor in Washington D.C. On their behalf, we prepared and presented a memoir on immigration reform to a joint session of the Senate and Congress.
Canadian Federal and Provincial Agencies found our lectures on exports and international labor mobility so educational and convincing that for 13 years they have been referring clients to us because of our high level of commitment.
Our aim was to create jobs and in achieving this goal we established a rapport with unionized and non unionized labor as well as with management and government. We became specialists in the placement of human resources.
Realizing that there was a serious problem and that unscrupulous profiteers were exploiting uneducated workers Can-Am was instrumental in setting standards of conduct and of competency to safeguard the public. In 2004, we helped the Canadian government create the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC). Certification is a gauge of competency and the exercise of the profession is now restricted to either attorneys or certified consultants.
Our sense of responsibility to the immigration consumers took us one step further. We spared neither time nor expense to institute the Canadian Association of professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) of which one of our team members became president. We are very proud of the role we played in cleaning up this industry.
We firmly believe that knowledge is a key commodity. We help our clients to explore and analyze their corporate culture and to identify the unique characteristics that have most contributed to their success. Our education team then helps them to create and implement training programs to disseminate wise and useful advice. The attentive ear receives the sound from the instructive tongue and thus are transmitted the tenets of effective business practices.

Our projects involve the building and operation of beautiful and joyful retirement resorts for aging boomers in the beautiful and peaceful State of Vermont where jobs and investments are needed. Our projects must not only create jobs but they must provide a lasting benefit to the communities that welcome us. That is why we always joint venture with local professionals, local unions and the local chamber of commerce. The involvement of the natives greatly contributes to our acceptance. Their understanding of the neighborhood’s needs and priorities allows for smooth and painless dealings with regional government agencies.
